A Global Perspective on HBCU Importance
September 2021
Rho Nu Omega Chapter hosted a Virtual HBCU Panel to engage the community in conversation regarding the importance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. The event featured panelists from a variety of HBCUS, including Spelman College, Morehouse College, Fayetteville State University, and Alabama A&M University.
Discussion topics included: financial aid; presumptions and misconceptions about HBCUs; how pop-culture has influenced the popularity of HBCUs; and the lasting impact of HBCUs.
As one panelist stated: "HBCUs should be valued as national treasures, economic drivers, and centers of academic excellence. Our ancestors --both freed and enslaved--did their part in the quest for our absolute freedom, and we are mandated to maintain their legacy in the education context and the rediscovery of who we are and capable of. HBCUs allow us to do just that."

International Day of Prayer
August 2021
The Ladies of ΡΝΩ chapter enjoyed an inspiring message at their Inaugural Prayer Breakfast - "Tulsa Sunday: Remembering, Reclaiming, Restoring" which was the theme for celebrating this year's International Day of Prayer. Thanks to members Karen Morton and Octavia Rochelle, who delivered words on the power of prayer and perseverance. Chapter members worshipped together as a sign of solidarity and for the continued great works we perform in Service to All Mankind. Prayer changes things!
Congratulations!
