Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is the first Greek letter organization established by African American college educated women in 1908 on the campus of Howard University in Washington, DC. Alpha Kappa Alpha has an incredible legacy of service and sisterhood that strengthens after college life. It is an international service organization with graduate and undergraduate chapters in the United States, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Caribbean, Canada, Germany, Japan, South Korea, and on the continent of Africa. The Sorority has a membership of 260,000 women of distinction who are dedicated to a life of scholarship, leadership, and "service to all mankind".
